Leading renewable energy consultancy and service provider, Natural Power, has provided technical due diligence and construction monitoring on behalf of the lender, BPCE ENERGECO, to support the completion of project financing for the Romazières wind farm (21.6 MW installed capacity) in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region in the West of France.
Developed by the French renewable operator Energiter (formerly known as Eurocape), Romazières wind project is a ready-to-build project, which consists of six wind turbine generators, totalling 21.6MW.
Fabien Vacher, Construction Director at Natural Power, said: “The experience of our French construction team in the balance of plant phase enabled us to focus on the key milestones within our lender’s technical adviser role. In addition, the robust due diligence performed internally combined with our close client collaboration, will strengthen the successful delivery of this project.”
The technical due diligence phase included detailed contract reviews of construction contracts, the turbine supply agreement and balance of plant (BoP) contract, as well as the operation and maintenance agreement (O&M), asset management agreement (AMA), grid connection agreement, and a review of the construction schedule. Natural Power also reviewed the routes to market including Contract for Difference and aggregation contract, as well as reviewing the technical inputs of the financial model. The team has previously performed an independent Energy Yield Analysis (EYA) for the project and is currently updating this EYA in the context of another mandate.
Natural Power’s experience assists banks, developers, independent power producers (IPPs), utilities and investment funds to make good financial decisions when it comes to green energy projects. Find out about the advisory services here.
