life at natural power

David Croke

Associate Technical Director, Environment

When did you join Natural Power?

December 2023

What does your role entail?

Liaising with clients, scoping and bidding for work, managing the team and workload, and providing technical direction to the Environment/Hydrology team.

What are the most rewarding and challenging parts of your role?

I enjoy using my consulting knowledge and experience, providing good advice to clients and working with the team in delivering our project commitments on time. I also enjoy learning on the job and continuously developing my skill set.

What is the most interesting project you have undertaken and why?

Recent interesting jobs have included determining development constraints to BESS and Solar which is now being developed on brownfield marginal land, that has historical past land uses often close to rivers and the coast, with potential for contaminated land, flood risk and hydrogeological issues. These are interesting because I can use my career experience to readily assess. I also enjoy getting involved with anything hydrogeology related.

Provide a hidden talent or quirky fact about yourself!?

I enjoy listening to music and attending concerts, travelling across Europe to see some of my favourite artists including Karl Bartos in Frankfurt and Paolo Nutini in his hometown of Paisley. I am also developing my guitar playing skills and go for regular lessons.
