Joris Robillard
When did you join Natural Power?
I joined Natural Power in 2021 after working for eight years with a wind turbine manufacturer and then for two years at an insurance consultancy specialiszing in renewable energy.
What does your day typically consist of?
My typical day usually begins with a press review, which helps me stay informed about industry news and mission opportunities. I participate in meetings with various teams to monitor ongoing projects, assess the team's workload, and discuss potential opportunities. I also attend meetings with clients and prospects and am involved in the validation of commercial proposals. LastlyFinally, I sometimes work on the projects I have secured.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I enjoy working on the projects I have secured. This dual role is very important to me because it allows me to use my technical and commercial skills. I strongly believe that to fully understand the needs of the energy sector, it is essential to view it more as a market where production sources and infrastructures are leveraged through various channels—contributing to decarboniszation, electrification of uses, and system flexibility—rather than as an aggregation of renewable technical capacities.
What is the most interesting type of work you have done and why?
The most interesting projects I have worked on are mergers and acquisitions (M&A). These are typically large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders and very tight deadlines, requiring a certain level of flexibility in both timelines and methods. M&A projects are emblematic, as they perfectly illustrate the need to understand markets and technologies. Success factors go beyond a purely technical approach, requiring attentiveness to the client’s needs to help them assess both the risks and opportunities of the transaction.
What is your biggest achievement at work?
My biggest achievement is having built a trusting relationship with my clients, with whom I work closely to ensure the success of their projects.
